Simon Fennessy Corcoran
Simon is a curator and visual artist based in Limerick City and is currently the fifth recipient of the Shinnors Scholarship with Limerick City Gallery of Art, MA through research, curatorial studies, researching collections and programme development (2015-2017). He first exhibited a solo exhibition of own work in The higher Bridges Gallery, Enniskillen in 2016, with Pig Shop, an exhibition examining value and animals in art through a historical lens and contemporary contexts.
He worked under Dr. Dominique Bouchard on the Education and Public Programmes at the Hunt Museum and is currently a culture team member with Ormston House, Cultural resource centre in Limerick City since 2014. He is the founder of the Curators’ Collective, a youth curators group and the annual curatorial project Plinth at The Sailor’s Home, which supports recent graduates and promotes these emerging artists work in a unique way.
